This is a portrait I drew from an old black-and-white photo of my maternal grandfather, taken circa 1943. He used to announce the agricultural reports for various radio stations - something that was apparently much more exciting then than it is now. Radio announcing was just one of his many interests and talents, however. He was a warm, kind, and highly accomplished man, someone who taught me more about life by his own actions than any book or classroom ever could.
